Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe - BVG (Berlin Public Transport Company)

Bringing users to their destination faster together

The "Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe" (BVG) (Berlin Public Transport Company), as Germany’s largest local public transport operator, is addressing the ecological and social challenges of the mobility transition. In doing so, it uses advanced technology and innovative strategies. Each year, it carries more than one billion passengers in an environmentally friendly way by subway, tram, bus, and ferry.

To also provide your customers with a smooth online experience, they are continuously working to improve their web presence. As part of this, BVG decided together with e-pixler to conduct 15 user tests in order to assess the usability of their current website and identify opportunities for optimization. With a diverse selection of participants representing the broad spectrum of riders, we were able to gain numerous insights.

15 user tests: setting the course for an optimized website

Using eye tracking, we followed how users interacted with the site. BVG employees also had the opportunity to attend the tests in order to better understand their users and their needs.

The insights gained provided concrete approaches for further development. We summarized the results in a detailed report and evaluated them together with the client. These insights form a solid basis for future steps to increase the website’s usability.
